Founded by college-trained women on the campus of Howard University, AKA is an international service organization with a passion for Service to All Mankind. Sixteen undergraduates made history in 1908, establishing a small, campus organization that is now the oldest Greek-lettered organization for African-American women. Today, after 115 years, our membership includes more than 300,000 students, educators, physicians, astronauts, one vice president of the United States, and professionals in all fields. Our members provide sisterly service through more than 1,000 graduate and undergraduate chapters around the globe. Alpha Beta Delta Omega Chapter aims to be at the forefront of effective advocacy and social change that results in equality and equity for all citizens of the West and Northwest communities in Chicago. |
